Instructions
  1. Slice 6 medium-sized ripe or green tomatoes about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Dip tomatoes in beaten egg, then in flour or bread crumbs before cooking.
  3. Dip in mixture of 1/4 cup fine, dry bread crumbs or flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and a little pepper.
  4. Cook in a small amount of fat until brown on both sides.
